Wild and Free

In April, I had an opportunity to visit British Colombia for a TED conference. I took the time to visit Victoria and everything the country my family lives in has to offer. One thing that you are able to spot in this part of the world are magnificent orcas!

So why am I talking about orcas? They always travel in pods like their dolphin cousins and they always have a leader. They hunt and play together which is critical for their survival and they are very protective of each other.

Resident orcas are my favourite because they dare to remain closer to the coastline where humans live. They dare to coexist in an environment that might not always be friendly or safe. We must protect them just like we must protect our right to remain wild and free.
